WEEK 8 (MAR 01)

 

Enhancement week

This week is quiet but full of surprises. I moved further with my project, I did a presentation in front of my lecturers on Thursday, fear of Coronavirus spreads and big companies are stepping out from GDC leaving it with only one choice - to cancel.

Presentation

My presentation went well. I talked with my lecturers about problems I have to deal with in my project and they offered me some help and hopefully, I will have a small chat with Mitch upcoming Thursday. I am a bit messed up with my schedule because I am focusing on things like animation and small details way too much. My warehouse is half empty and I am stressing out about some bad keyframes in my testing animation - that is not right. 

Right after meeting with them I started working on other assets in my level. I will try to move a bit faster and build as much as I can. For now, I have this upgrade:

• additional steel beams for production line; 
• support steel beams;
• c-shaped support;
• modular ventilation system

For a couple of days, I will continue to work on my assets and at the end of the week I will try to figure out what kind of lighting I want in my level. Stay tuned!

GDC SF trip with DMUglobal

We all know what's happening in the world right now and I am not going to get into details of this pandemic thing named Coronavirus. The thing is, that all the big companies pulling off from the biggest game dev event GDC and people already been laughing on the internet that this year GDC will be an indie event. Facebook and Playstation made the first move by cancelling their appearances in GDC. Later all the biggest sharks of the industry just pulled off. I was so excited about this event and now it is literally just an indie event! 

On 29th of FEB, 12:29 AM we got his email, that after close consultation with partners in the games development industry, they made this decision to postpone GDC event. 

It is really disappointing but our health is a priority and I fully understand that. What a time to be alive.
