WEEK 10 (MAR 15)

Work continues

Working from home continues and I barely moved forward. Well, I've done something.

I was working in UE4 mostly, re-arranging my already uploaded meshes. I deleted my hanging lights with movable lights and changed it to static lights. I need to try my first lighting bake but I am a bit afraid to do it because of the walls of the warehouse. I am guaranteed that the seems between metal_wall_sheet's will be visible.






Right now, I am at this stage:

Small office

At some point, the robot will reach the OS instalment section. I thought, since its quite complex process, I need more than a moving robotic arm in this section. Small office scene was built next to this section. 

Office assets

When creating this section, I used most typical 3D models for the scene:

• PC station + wires
• additional TV flatscreen
• table
• drawers
• additional drawers
• chair
• bookshelf
• papers
• additional human things (cups, pens, sticky notes, ... )

Everything is moving in the right direction. I am just a little bit slow.

Slideshow

Since I added TV flatscreen mesh to my level, I figured out that it needs to show something in it. At first, I thought it could show our company's logo, but the TV screen is placed there for a reason, not just remind employees how cool our logo is. It should be something informative. 

Usually, in workplaces like these TV screens displays some news about the company or industry itself. Something to talk about, something to be glad about. So I created a couple of slides, that later will be converted to a short non-stop repeating movie clip. 

 

Here you can see some basic news, notes and ads of previous workers and a short presentation on how the 372industries logo changed through the years. 

 

A bug

If you noticed in Our Notes slide there is a strange bug where all the notes are just weird numbers and they just mashed on one another. This happened when the AI took over. Since it had all the access of companies system, it went everywhere and left a mark. It is just a glitch. But there are no people here, nobody cares what's shown on TV. 

Next week

For the next week, I am planning to take a quick review of my models and improve them. I will start from the robotics and all the assembly line. I need to work faster and be efficient. I wasted to much time.
